If you’re a West Boca homeowner, you’re just a short walk or drive from 847 fabulous acres where you can play golf, baseball, basketball and volleyball, take your kids to a water park, visit a nature center, see an outdoor concert, and let your dog off its leash for a good run.

South County Regional Park, now known as Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park,  borders the West Boca communities of  Saturnia,  The Shores, Loggers Run, Boca Isles North and Boca Isles South.   The Park is easily accessible from Yamato Road,   from Glades Road near West Boca Community High School, and from a separate park access road just off Cain Boulevard.

Pleasures for people and for pets.

Morning, noon and night there’s always something to do in South County Park in Boca Raton. Many West Boca Raton residents like to start the day jogging or biking along 2.8 miles of tree lined paths. For tennis players, there are 19 lighted courts, along with a pro shop.  You’ll also find 5 volley ball courts (3 paved and 2 sanded) and 12 lighted racquetball/handball courts.

If you’re not feeling athletic but your dogs are, bring them to the Canine Cove  Dog Park . It’s a fenced in, grassy area where they can run around, unleashed, and find friends of their own.

Glorious golf.

The “jewel in the crown” of South County Regional Park, according to local linksmen,  is the Osprey Point Golf Course. It’s a combination of 3 18-hole courses with a host of amenities including a chipping area, driving range, practice putting green and of course, a pro shop with its own snack bar.

Fun for children of all ages (even grown-ups).

South County Park in West Boca Raton also offers child-friendly, barrier –free playgrounds, with specific areas for children of different ages and plenty of picnic areas with grill and covered pavilions to feed them when they get hungry.

And when the weather is just right, you can take your kids to the Coconut Cove Water Park, complete with 2 water slides, river ride and interactive water playground.

Big name acts come to Boca Raton.

On special evenings, entertainment takes center stage at the Sunset Cove Amphitheatre in South County Park.  Large enough to accommodate 6,000 guests, this state of the art outdoor venue boasts a 1,700 ft stage replete with the latest in sound and lighting capabilities, along with rear screen projection for audience overflow.

It has previously hosted national acts such as Willie Nelson, Imagine Dragons, Zac Brown Band and Darius Rucker, to name a few. The amphitheatre is also available for family movies, festivals and community fundraisers.

Best of all, there’s plenty of parking.
